P&O Cruises has cancelled Pacific Sun’s seven-night cruise from Brisbane this Saturday due to an unavoidable delay to the ship’s dry-dock.
The cruise line has apologised unreservedly to passengers for the cancellation.
Passengers affected by the cancellation are being given an immediate refund and a 50 per cent credit on their current cruise fare to use on any future booking with P&O Cruises.
The cancellation has been caused by a delay in Pacific Sun’s release from dry-dock in Brisbane where she has been undergoing scheduled refurbishment and routine maintenance.
While in dry-dock, it became apparent that a replacement part was needed for Pacific Sun’s propulsion system. The part needs to be custom made and then fitted before the ship can depart the dry-dock.
“P&O Cruises unreservedly apologises to passengers for the cancellation of their cruise at such short notice,” Ann Sherry, CEO of Carnival Australia, which operates P&O Cruises, said.
“We fully understand their disappointment and appreciate the inconvenience caused by the cancellation.
“P&O Cruises is contacting all passengers to let them know of arrangements for refund of their cruise fare and the offer of a credit on any future P&O Cruises’ booking.”
Pacific Sun’s next cruise is scheduled to depart Brisbane on November 21.
We encourage all affected passengers to speak to a customer service representative at P&O Cruises on 1800 129 961 from Monday-Friday 7am-8pm, Saturday 8am-5pm Sydney time.
