P&O Cruises in the Community

Our Charity Partners

P&O Cruises is proud to support three separate but diverse charity partners that together enhance the community in making a real and enduring difference to the lives of people of all ages.

Every day, we are inspired by the outstanding contribution and achievements of our partners – Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Catherine Freeman Foundation and Lifeline Australia.

This is how we are helping our charity partners:

Make-A-Wish Foundation

We’re a Gold Supporter of Make-A-Wish and its remarkable work in granting wishes to special children and their families in facing the challenge of life threatening health conditions.

Each year, we host onboard Make-A-Wish events in Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland and donate several cruises for fundraising and, where applicable, for the granting wishes. We also fund Make-A-Wish gift hampers to help deliver a little magic.

And our staff work shoulder-to-shoulder with Make-A-Wish collecting public donations on World Wish Day held each year on April 29.

The Catherine Freeman Foundation

Olympic champion, Catherine Freeman is the energy force behind The Catherine Freeman Foundation and its aim to improve the wellbeing, self-belief and education opportunities for young Indigenous Australians.

Donations from P&O Cruises' passengers and proceeds from the onboard sale of cruise navigation charts assists The Catherine Freeman Foundation in its partnership with the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation to provide education scholarships for girls from Palm Island in northern Queensland.

Our passengers can also assist with our onboard ‘Walk the Decks’ program.

Lifeline Australia

Launched in 1963 as a 24-hour telephone counselling service and now operating from 60 locations Australia-wide, Lifeline connects people in need with mental health support in addition to delivering a range of national services.

Lifeline receives more than one million contacts each year from people seeking care via telephone, Internet or face-to-face.

It overcomes time and distance to provide support day or night. P&O Cruises provides Lifeline with surplus items from our ships and offices including blankets, appliances and computers in a partnership that will develop over time.
