Art Auction Programme

You're invited to attend our on-board Fine Arts Auction where you will be shown some of the most beautiful artwork produced in the last century along with some contemporary and animation pieces.

You'll be able to bid on and acquire a stunning collector's item and unlike other art auctions, no registration is necessary. All artwork will be insured, packaged, and shipped to your home or office from our fulfillment centre.

Each ship has many unique and exclusive artworks and most have a gallery where you can browse at your leisure. Art experts are available throughout the cruise to answer your questions about the on board art collection.

Nautical Glossary

Above-water hull: The hull section of a vessel above waterline, the visible part of a ship. Also, topsides.
Abaft: Toward the stern, relative to some object ("abaft the fore hatch").
Abandon ship!: An imperative to leave the vessel immediately, usually in the face of some imminent danger.
Abeam: On the beam, a relative bearing at right angles to the centerline of the ship's keel.
Fast: Fastened or held firmly (fast aground: stuck on the seabed; made fast: tied securely).
Astern: Any distance behind a ship, as opposed to A-Head.
Beating to windward: Making progress against the direction of the wind, by steering alternately close-hauled on the starboard and larboard tacks.
Gunnel: The large plank that runs along the upper part of a ship's side.
Hoy: A particular kind of vessel.
Fresh away: When your ship increases its velocity.
