Right to Deny Boarding 

P&O Cruises reserves the right to deny boarding of any person it believes is not suitable to travel. This could be because the person:

  • Is unfit to travel in the opinion of the Senior Doctor
  • Seeks to travel in violation of any applicable law
  • Has a serious criminal conviction and/or in the reasonable opinion of P&O
  • Cruises, poses a significant risk to other passengers and/or crew
  • Breaches the applicable Terms and Conditions
  • Possesses, or is under the influence, of drugs or alcohol
  • May compromise the safety or comfort of other passengers or for the protection of property
  • Uses offensive language or behaviour towards fellow passengers or crew

Nautical Glossary

Above-water hull
The hull section of a vessel above waterline, the visible part of a ship. Also, topsides.
Abaft
Toward the stern, relative to some object ("abaft the fore hatch").
Abaft the beam
Further aft than the beam: a relative bearing of greater than 90 degrees from the bow: "two points abaft the port beam".
Bear down
Turn away from the wind, often with reference to a transit.
Fast
Fastened or held firmly (fast aground: stuck on the seabed; made fast: tied securely).
Astern
Any distance behind a ship, as opposed to A-Head.
Dog-watch
The watches from four to six and six to eight in the evening.
Lee-side
The half of a ship, lengthwise, which lies between a line drawn through the middle of her length and the side, which is farthest from the point of wind.
Water line
The line made by the water's edge when a ship has her full proportion of stores on board.
Fresh away
When your ship increases its velocity.
