Smoking policy 

In the interest of our guests’ health, safety and enjoyment, smoking is not permitted indoors, including in rooms, suites and on private balconies. This is in line with Australian standards. Outdoor smoking venues will be published in the Pacific Daily onboard your cruise.

Nautical Glossary

Above-water hull
The hull section of a vessel above waterline, the visible part of a ship. Also, topsides.
Daggerboard
A type of centerboard that is lifted vertically; often used in pairs.
Dayboard
The daytime identifier of an aid to navigation presenting one of several standard shapes (square, triangle, rectangle) and colors (red, green, white, orange, yellow, or black).
Fast
Fastened or held firmly (fast aground: stuck on the seabed; made fast: tied securely).
Fender
An air or foam filled bumper used in boating to keep boats from banging into docks or each other.
Astern
Any distance behind a ship, as opposed to A-Head.
Beating to windward
Making progress against the direction of the wind, by steering alternately close-hauled on the starboard and larboard tacks.
Dog-watch
The watches from four to six and six to eight in the evening.
Under the lee of the shore
Close to the shore, which lies to windward of the ship.
Fresh away
When your ship increases its velocity.
