Ceremonies at Sea 

Let P&O Cruises help you celebrate your special occasion in style with our Ceremonies at Sea program. We offer four wonderful packages to create the perfect day:

  • Commitment ceremonies

Immerse yourself in the enjoyment of your day, and let our staff take care of all the little details. There's none of the usual worries, like getting from the ceremony to the reception.

Group Cruises 

Travelling in a group of 16 or more people allows you to have access to a number of onboard services on selected sailings. Please call your travel agent or our Telephone Sales & Service Team for more details.

Pre-ordering and payments for special services must be made more than 21 days prior to sailing. Charges may apply to some services including;

  • Cocktail parties with canapés
  • Children's parties
  • Group photos
  • Special occasion cakes

Nautical Glossary

Bear down
Turn away from the wind, often with reference to a transit.
Dayboard
The daytime identifier of an aid to navigation presenting one of several standard shapes (square, triangle, rectangle) and colors (red, green, white, orange, yellow, or black).
Fast
Fastened or held firmly (fast aground: stuck on the seabed; made fast: tied securely).
Fender
An air or foam filled bumper used in boating to keep boats from banging into docks or each other.
Starboard
The right hand side of the ship when looking forward
Griping
The inclination of a ship to run to windward.
Gunnel
The large plank that runs along the upper part of a ship's side.
Lee-side
The half of a ship, lengthwise, which lies between a line drawn through the middle of her length and the side, which is farthest from the point of wind.
Shallow, not deep.
Shoal
Fresh away
When your ship increases its velocity.
