Docking / Disembarkation 

The ship is scheduled to berth at Geraldton Port; the port is located on the Southern side of the town, 4 km to the city centre.

Taxis 

Taxis are generally available near the wharf for cruise passengers. Public Buses run from the city to nearby towns and timetables are available at the Geraldton Tourist Bureau. From the centre of Geraldton it is easy to walk to many of the town’s eateries, shops and attractions.

Tourist Information Office 

The Geraldton Tourist Bureau is located at the intersection of Bayle and Chapman St.

Shopping 

There are an abundance of shopping facilities in Geraldton, from large shopping centres to chic boutiques. Local artist and indigenous pieces are very popular as are the local Abrolhos pearls at the numerous jewellery shops.

Dining 

Fresh fish and lobsters are a local delight, often straight from the local waters! There is no shortage of eateries to prepare them to perfection either, with waterfront restaurants, cafes and casual fish and chip shops throughout the town.

Climate 

Geraldton is famed as a seaside town all year round as it experiences a Mediterranean-type climate. Maximum temperatures reach 30 degrees (February) and minimum temperatures fall to just below 20 degrees (July).

The local currency used in Geraldton is the Australian Dollar (AUD). Credit cards are widely accepted and ATM machines can be found throughout the city. Travellers cheques are also accepted. Banks are open Mon to Thu 9.00am-4.00pm Fri 9.00am-5.00pm.

Public telephones are available at the entrance to the port, in shopping centres and at the Tourist Bureau.
Mobile phone coverage is available.

What To Wear Ashore 

To make your day as enjoyable as possible, please wear comfortable flat shoes, lightweight clothes and a hat and bring along sunscreen, water and insect repellent.
