A Port Vila kind of life

Set on a beautiful natural harbour, Port Vila is a magnificent cultural blend with Melanesian, English, French and Asian influences. You’ll love the warm hospitality, beautiful scenery and great cafe culture. You won’t soon forget your visit to Port Villa.

Vila City Highlights

2 of 2
After cyclone Yasi devastated her home town, Sally decided to get out there, get on her first cruise and experience other cultures. On her tour of Port Vila she finds that there is so much more to the world than the town you live in and your day to day life.

The adventure capital of the Pacific

Vila is and adventure lover's dream! Choose from diving, abseiling, jet boating, kayaking, horse riding, zorbing, snorkelling, big game fishing, ocean walking, scuba diving and more.

Clinging to the hillsides with marvellous views of the harbour, Vila also has a thriving cafe scene and souvenir, handicraft and duty-free shops a plenty! The harbour is quite active with fishing boats, yachts and speedboats passing between the various nearby islands.

On a P&O Cruises Shore Tour^ you might visit the Cheif's nakamal (meeting house) and admire outrigger canoes and ceremonial headdresses in the National Museum. Another of our Shore Tours^ will take you to the award-winning Ekasup Cultural Village in the rainforest nearby. Learn how locals prepare food, watch weaving demonstrations and shiver at spine-tingling tales of cannibals from days gone by.

You might even enjoy a Shore Tour^ kayaking around Mele Bay. Too tame? We could take you abseiling down the 50-metre-high Cascade Waterfall deep in the rainforest, or on a head spinning harbour dash in a jet boat. Adventure? Vanuatu has it in spades!

^ Charges apply to Shore Tours.
