Get a close up look at the wonders of Bali’s highlands with a full day tour that begins in a monkey forest and ends with learning about batik. Your first stop is Sangeh Monkey Forest, a 34-acre sanctuary for hundreds of monkeys. Next, is Lake Bratan. Located almost 4,000 feet above sea level, this sparkling lake sits in the crater of Mt. Catur. Perched on the shore is Ulun Danu Temple, featured on the country’s 50,000 IDR note. Next, is a photo stop overlooking the “twin lakes” of Bali followed by lunch and a visit to Pasar Candi Kuning- a fruit and vegetable market. Your final destination is Tohpati, famous for its fine batik. During your visit watch how the fabric is dyed, the pattern is outlined, how the wax is applied and dyed. Before leaving for your ship, you can shop for souvenirs, gifts and fine Balinese crafts.

Departing the wharf you will head for your first stop at Celuk, known for its skillful silver jewellery makers, visit their workshop and their gallery. Next continue on to Kemenuh, here you will be warmly welcomed by a local Balinese family, enjoy morning tea before the famous Barong dance is performed for you. You will have the chance to visit their workshop where you will find skilled carvers turn slabs of teak and ebony wood into masks, religious figures and intricate wall decorations. On your return journey, blend in amongst the villagers at Ubud Market, selling their handicrafts where you can try out your bargaining powers or stroll along the street of Ubud to window shop along the paths. At a determined time, your bus and guide will be waiting at the central parking area, where you will be transferred back to Benoa Harbor.
