This scenic shoreline drive introduces you to the charm of quaint seaside villages such as Penguin, allows time to take a stroll in Devonport, and then ventures into the surrounding countryside, rich in farmers' fields and home to Preston Falls. In the township of Penguin time is allowed to take a walk in this quaint seaside village, recognizable by its roadside gardens, penguin bins, and as the home of the Big Penguin. Hiscutt Park boasts a Dutch theme, complete with a working windmill and tulips in the springtime. Next along the drive is Devonport; situated at the mouth of the Mersey River, drive past early workers' cottages and fine old buildings before making a stop to allow you time to take a stroll or purchase a refreshment from one of the local cafes. Next stop is Preston Falls; here you can stretch your legs on a brief 20 minute bush walk to view the falls - weather permitting.
