Travel by coach up the mountain to Aboriginal town, Kuranda, located on the eastern tip of the Atherton Tableland. Enjoy free time to soak up the region’s tropical ambience, shop for souvenirs or treat yourself to a snack or lunch at one of the village’s numerous cafés. Travel down the mountain on board the legendary Kuranda Scenic Railway, constructed 100 years ago. Take in Barron Gorge and the breathtaking Barron and Stoney Creek Falls.
Many shots can be taken from the train of the fantastic panoramic views of the Barron Gorge and out to Green Island. The train stops at the Barron Falls Lookout for a few minutes for more great photo opportunities.
Light refreshments may be purchased (own expense) from Kuranda Village. Please make your choice prompt as time is limited.
To make your day as enjoyable as possible, please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat and SPF30+ or higher factor sunscreen. Make sure to bring bottled water.
Guests must be able to board the coach and train unassisted and sit in a coach seat and train bench seat. Guests who suffer from vertigo or related conditions should consider carefully before committing to this tour.
