Litchfield National Park: Termite Mounds & Falls
Travel approximately two hours south of Darwin to the Litchfield National Park. This fascinating, uniquely beautiful area was originally the home of the Aboriginal Wagait people.
Visit the famous Termite Mounds. One of Litchfield's unique sights, this collection of hundreds of termite mounds stands over 1.8 m high in a wide swathe of empty ground and has the appearance of tombstones in a graveyard. After lunch, drive to Wangi Falls. The falls flow into a large, water hole surrounded by lush monsoonal rain forest making them Litchfield National Park's most popular attraction.
