Condingup Beaches and Country pub

Live like a local in one of Australia’s most beautiful spots. Depart Esperance and travel through rich farm country east of Esperance to the township of Condingup. Passing through Condingup continue onto the coast and the magnificent Duke of Orleans Bay. The coastline near to Condingup is made up of a string of beautiful beaches gleaming with stunning white sands and turquoise waters. Stop at Wharton Beach with time for a swim, stroll along the beach or simply relax in the pure white sand that is so fine it’s like talcum powder. Reboard your coach and return to Condingup and experience a typically Aussie country town pub. This is a 3rd generation country Pub opened by the Johnston Family in 1991. This pub is made entirely out of local granite and even driftwood found washed up on local beaches. The granite was supplied by Charlie Johnston who had a 40 acre granite outcrop on his farm and was only too pleased to get rid of it! When the pub first opened, the locals would often buy cans from the bottle shop, then leave them in the fridge and drink them as required. Thus the tradition of a pseudo tavern was begun. The current owners will be happy to talk to you about history of the tavern and the region as you enjoy your lunch.
