Cruises to Mooloolaba - Sunshine Coast

Mooloolaba Sunshine Coast

As the gateway to the Sunshine Coast, Mooloolaba is blessed with beautiful beaches and heavenly hinterland - a pairing that’s hard to beat.

Just north of Brisbane, Mooloolaba has sophistication and relaxation down to a fine art. But if you only do one thing in Mooloolaba, make sure you sink your toes into Mooloolaba Beach. It’s one of Queensland’s most famous and its northfacing position provides natural shelter, making it exceptionally safe for swimming. Along the Esplanade, the historic Surf Club Mooloolaba, built in 1919, marks the moment when holidaymakers discovered the lure of Mooloolaba’s shores, and it still stands proud today. Prior to life as an iconic beach destination, Mooloolaba was best known for its timber-cutting depot and fishing industry. In fact, Mooloolaba Harbour is home to the largest trawling fleet on Australia’s east coast.

What To See

Swim with humpback whales

Ever dreamt about swimming with humpback whales? If you’re lucky enough to cruise into Mooloolaba during whale watching season (June - November), you can do just that - a Sunshine Coast first. As the curious whales come close, witness their breathtaking displays of breaching, lob tailing and pectoral fin slaps, and enjoy an experience unlike any other.

Eumundi Market

With over 600 stalls, there’s not much you won’t find at Australia’s biggest art and craft market. Every Wednesday and Saturday - rain, hail or shine - you’ll find original artwork, handmade toys, locally-designed jewelry, coffee, freshly-baked breads, locally made cheeses… the list is endless. When you’ve had your dose of retail therapy, sit back and enjoy local performers or a massage.

A visit to Sunshine Coast’s rejuvenating hinterland is like a breath of fresh air. Stroll the laneways of Montville. Venture across the Blackall Range to arty Maleny, where you can find every kind of healing therapy or chill out in an organic café. Or visit the mysterious Glass House Mountains.
