Wild Dolphin Discovery

There are only a few places in the world where you have the chance to get in the water and feed wild dolphins and Moreton Island is one of them. This is your chance to get involved in the once-in-a-lifetime experience that people travel from around the world to take part in. After a full day to enjoy the island at your leisure, your tour will start in the late afternoon. First, relax and enjoy a welcome drink and a selection of finger food before heading over to the Tangalooma Resort Marine Education Centre. Here you will learn all about the history of the island’s dolphin feeding and education program which started back in the 1970’s. You’ll also find out about the family of dolphins who regularly return to the beach each evening to for the feeding. Then it's time to prepare and get into the water to hand feed the island’s most popular visitors. It’s an incredible experience you’re sure to remember long after your cruise is over.

You may get wet up to your waist whilst feeding the dolphins so please bring a change of clothes and a towel ashore with you. The Wild Dolphin Feeding relies on dolphins arriving in the shallows naturally therefore dolphin feeding will commence as we welcome the dolphins close to shore. Children 17 years and under must be accompanied by an adult who also holds a Wild Dolphin Discovery ticket. In the event of adverse weather conditions where guest safety may be compromised, guests may have to feed from the jetty instead of the beach. Important information to ensure the best possible dolphin care: * Flash photography is not permitted from the beach * Please do not wear insect repellants, perfumes, deodorants or sunscreens into the water * If you have a cold, flu or respiratory illness you are not permitted to feed the dolphins * Wear something you do not mind getting wet.
