At Fort Scratchley participate in a guided tour undertaken by the Fort Scratchley Historical Society around the Barracks, the underground tunnels and the above ground defence structures. Learn the history of the Fort’s involvement in World War II with the Fort taking its place in the history books as the first and only Australian Fort to return fire on an enemy ship during a time of war. Free time is given at the Newcastle Museum for you to wander the exhibits at their leisure.
