Great houses of Dunedin
Explore one of Dunedin’s great houses and New Zealand’s only castle. First stop is Olveston House, a historic 35 room mansion that was built by a prominent Dunedin businessman between 1904 and 1906. Guests are transported into another era while viewing many treasures collected from around the world. Complete with an acre of manicured gardens, this is truly not to be missed. Next visit Larnach Castle on the crown of a wooded hill overlooking Otago Harbour. Designed in Scotland, the Neo-Gothic castle took three years to build and another twelve to complete. You’ll see English tile work, Italian marble, Venetian glass, and exotic hardwoods from around the world.

Larnach Castle is fitted with neither ramps nor elevators, guests in wheelchairs are restricted to visiting the castle's gardens & ground floor
