Fascinating Rotorua

Leave Tauranga with a scenic drive inland through kiwifruit country. In Rotorua, you will visit Rainbow Springs Wildlife Park to view huge trout and the national bird, the kiwi, at a nocturnal house. Visit the Agrodome-an outstanding exhibit that will introduce you to the many aspects of New Zealand's sheep industry, including sheepdogs, working stock, sheep shearing and champion rams. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch and a traditional Maori concert performance at a local hotel. At Te Puia, apprentices are taught the ancient art of carving and weaving. From here, you will begin a walking tour through Rotorua’s largest geo-thermal reserve, Te Whakarewarewa. The spectacular geothermal activity in this area has made Rotorua one of New Zealand’s greatest attractions. Your guided tour will take you past boiling mud pools, hot pools and geysers-an incredible display of nature’s raw fury and an awesome experience.
