Get up close to the resident New Zealand fur seal at Tongue Point and Sinclair Head on this amazing tour! Leaving Wellington city behind in a comfortable and spacious 4WD vehicle, you’ll view some of the rugged south coast’s famous landmarks including the Leaning Lighthouse and the unique Red rocks. Take in sweeping vistas of sharp-peaked hills, mountains, black sand beaches, and plunging valleys as you drive the stretch of rocky coastline. Much of the safari is on private land and is only accessible if participating in this tour, so your visit to this area is very unique. Your very own Department of Conservation approved expert will be along for the ride and will tell you all about these cute and furry sea creatures.
Take your camera to get once in a lifetime photos of the seal colony.
A ‘muffins with the seals’ morning or afternoon tea is included during your time at the seal colony.
Passengers must be able to walk 200 metres over rocky ground. To make your day as enjoyable as possible, please ensure that you wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat and jacket, and bring along some sunscreen and bottled water. All tour times are subject to changes. Please check your tickets which are issued when you get onboard for any amendments to tour departure times.
