Tranquility Island and Turtle Sanctuary

After departing the wharf, you’ll get the opportunity to see a great portion of this magnificent island as you travel through the jungle-clad hills and scenic landscape towards the majestic Havannah Harbour located on the northern coast. From the harbour, you will board a boat transfer to make the trip to Tranquillity Island. Depending on the wind, you will get the chance to either cruise or sail there as you sit back and enjoy the ride. Keep your eyes fixed on the beautiful crystal ocean as you are likely to see a friendly dolphin or two accompany you on the journey. After your relaxing boat ride you will reach your destination, Tranquillity Island and Turtle Sanctuary. This spectacular conservatory is responsible for raising baby Hawksbill turtles until the time they are twelve months old and can be tagged and released into the wild. After spending some time with the turtles, you will be given a guided tour of the conservatory, and will learn about how it operates. It’s then time to immerse yourself in all that Tranquillity Island has to offer with a twenty minute tropical nature walk across the island. By the end of your walk you will reach a picturesque tree-lined area at Jade Beach. This spectacular stretch of coastline boasts a warm, clear bay with ample snorkelling opportunities. Kick back and enjoy a picnic lunch or swim and snorkel off the beach. Alternatively, you can join a snorkel tender for a guided trip to the outer reef. At the conclusion of the day, your boat transfer will be ready and waiting to take you back to the mainland. From there, it is a short bus ride back to the wharf.
