Santo Ocean Fishing

Your tour begins as you are picked up from the main wharf by a local fishing boat. Santo is blessed with abundant fishing locations just a short 20 to 30-minute boat ride away. Depending on the winds and tide your local skipper will select the best locations to make your fishing adventure a success. Trolling for Tuna (dogtooth, yellowfin, skipjack), Trevally and Wahoo will be the main focus however, in the right conditions there might be a chance to target Marlin, Sailfish and Mahi Mahi as well. All fishing equipment and life jackets are supplied so all you have to worry about is securing the catch of the day. The Ni-Vanuatu crew speak fluent English and will provide insightful commentary about Espiritu Santo and the local lifestyle. Special Notes: A local banana boat suitable for light game fishing is used for this excursion and will not travel any further than approximately 3km from land. All staff are qualified for small vessel operation by Vanuatu legislation and VHF and mobile phones are carried onboard. To ensure your adventure is as enjoyable as possible, please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, bring a hat, plenty of sunscreen and bottled water.

The picturesque Segond Channel between Luganville and Tutuba Island provides ample scenic photo opportunities, as well as the big one that you may encounter.

All trips include light refreshments such as bottled water, island fruits, nuts and biscuits.

Special Notes

Please remember, you have purchased the opportunity to fish, not a guarantee of catching fish. Fishing for trophy fish is "catch and release". We are not able to store your catch onboard; any non-trophy fish will be kept by the fishing boat crew. To make your day as enjoyable as possible, please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat and SPF30+ or higher factor sunscreen, and bring bottled water. During the trip to the fishing grounds you will be able to view the ship alongside Luganville Wharf as well as deserted white beaches and small islands clothed in dense jungle, stretching along Segond Channel. There are no restroom facilities onboard the vessel.
